I. General
description
The HIJ lye pump is a single stage single suction
overhung volute pump. All the guide mark,
rated performance characteristics and
dimension will measure up to the standard
GB5662-85, which is equivalent to
ISO2858-1975. The HIJ lye pump belongs to
the same type as the IH and IJ chemical
pumps, but its structure has been improved
to adapt to the technology of the basic
industry. Comparing with the IJ lye pump, it
has the following features:

The
single volute design of the pump
makes the occurrence of the
unbalanced radial force under
the large-flow working
condition, increased axial
flexibility, more shock and
noise, inferior mechanical seal
effect and its shorter service
life, lower reliability, and
shorter maintenance period. |
However, the twin-volute design
of the pump (with the caliber
over 80) will guarantee the
balanced radial force within the
range of full flow, the steady
operation of the pump, increased
reliability, and the service
lives of the axial, bearings and
mechanical seals. |
The
mechanical seal of the IJ pump
needs the cooling water to cool
down and rinse. However, the
narrow cooling channel may block
because of the scale effect and
cause the damage to the
mechanical seal. The water seal
is the reinforced seal, which
will abrade the axle and form an
indent on it soon because the
water has an inferior
lubricating property. And hence
it will lead to leakage of the
cooling water, the
out-of-service of the mechanical
seal, and retirement of the
axle. |
The
special combination seal design
ensures that the pump needn’t
cooling and rinsing when it runs
on all the working positions of
the basic technology. The
prolonged service life of the
mechanical seal will save the
water and solve the problem of
environmental contamination
caused by the cooling water
drainage. The economic benefit
will be considerable. |
If
the oil seal of the bearings
adopt helixseal, the dimensional
space will be larger and the oil
will overflow once the oil level
is a bit higher, which will make
it inconvenient for the
operators to control. What is
more, if the leakage of the
cooling water occurs it will run
along the axle and enter the
bearing box, and hence do harm
for the bearings. |
However, the special oil seal
design will nor abrade the axle
and guarantee that the oil will
not leak even if the oil box is
full. The external impurity will
not enter the oil box and
consequently the service life of
the oil seal will be prolonged
for years. Meanwhile the oil
filling is convenient and much
lubricant oil may be saved.

Generally speaking, the
mechanical seal must have a
relatively shorter service life
when conveying the medium with
higher solid content. For
example, the salt pump has a
much shorter maintenance period
when it is used in the
vaporization technology of the
basic industry for conveying the
salt slurry. |
Our
relevant product is more
suitable for conveying the
medium with higher solid
content. When it comes to the
application in the vaporization
technology of the basic industry
for conveying the salt slurry,
the maintenance period of our
product will be several times as
that of the IJ pump. |
The
seal effect will not be
satisfactory if the inlet
pressure of the pump is a
positive pressure. |
Our
product is more suitable for the
working situation of the
positive inlet pressure and it
has an ideal seal effect and
service life. |
II.
Application
The HIJ lye pumps are not only adopted in the
basic industry such as preparing the
calcinied soda and caustic soda, but
also used in the industries such as
metallurgy, steel, acid, petrochemical,
synthetic fiber, plastics, paper
manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and
environmental protection.

IV. The seal of the pump
The pump uses the mechanical seal or our original
combination seal, and they are optional
for the customers according to their own
applications.
V. Things need attention during
application
1. Check the uniformity between the
rotational direction of the motor and
that of the pump when connecting the
motor equipped with the pump. Before
starting the pump, crawl it to see if
its rotational direction is right.
2. Fill a little lubricant oil into the
bearing box before the startup of the
pump. Notice that the oil volume mustn’t
be too much. The proper oil level is the
center position of the oil scale.
3. Recheck the coaxiality of the
coupling before the startup of the pump.
The maximum external circle error should
be less than or equal to 0.1mm.
4. Open all the inlet valves of the pump
when it starts, and open the outlet
valves gradually after the pump reaches
the rated rotational speed until it
measures up to the normal working
conditions.
5. If the combination seals are not
used, the general mechanical seals must
be supplied with the cooling water
before the startup of the pump.
